I was convinced several years ago that the Ron Paul Revolution needed to continue after his campaign ended and needed to pursue new and innovative strategies and tactics that reached out to the grassroots and got everyone involved (not just a few consultants).
I also believed that libertarianism was the greatest product of modern times but was very poorly marketed and widely misunderstood. As I explain in the book, I also believed that the word “libertarian” needed to be scrapped and that a new label needed to be found. (Read the book to find out the new proposed word.)
I conceived of a three-part plan, (1) a book one of whose purposes (not even hinted at in the title) was to recast and re-brand libertarianism by re-connecting it with its glorious past, almost completely unknown today; (2) a website, libertymovement.org; and (3) Project "X' which must remain confidential at this point (it will blow your mind).
The book is out and the website is up. The website is very primitive at this point but will grow into what I hope is a mighty force for change. The site has two main purposes, educate people on what the Liberty Movement really is, and carry out the strategic and tactical ideas proposed in the book, in my prior to book and which the Movement will generate as we go along.
I am doing this project initially by myself. There is no man behind the curtain, no deep pocket. It is self-funded and as we go along will be funded by book and ad profits. I will not ask for donations and I am not starting an organization so there will be no fees or dues. I believe the future of the Movement is using profit-making firms to solve the problems that government has failed to solve. Thus, I must lead by example. (I am not opposed to non-profits and endorse several on LMO.)
The timing, not chosen by me, if perfect anyway.
The public increasingly knows we are in deep trouble. Yet, politics is a wasteland of greedy, degenerate politicians from both parties fighting for power and pelf and using their usual weapon, a pack of lies.
The grassroots are silent and demoralized. The Tea Party movement is moribund. Occupy Wall Street is dead. And, unfortunately, the energy level of the Liberty Movement is very low at the present time.
The moment is right to rekindle the Movement.
I lit the match; only you can provide the fuel.
